Charities Fund
THE first grants are awarded to 19 local charities
When the new Richmond May Fair Committee revived the Fair in 2023, our ambition was to bring the community all the “fun of the Fair” that generations have enjoyed since 1970, and, in the longer term, to generate enough income to support local charities with small awards.
The Committee is thrilled to have achieved this in just three years. It wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of our sponsors Be Richmond, who have supported all three Fairs, and this year, Oscars. We are also immensely grateful for additional sponsorship from St Catherine’s School, Cinnamon Bazaar, Digme Fitness, Drop-in Ltd, Third Space, and Pet People.
The Richmond May Fair Charities Fund was open to charities operating within the borough and benefiting people in the Richmond Town and Hill area. The Fund received over thirty applications, and we are delighted to have made small grants to nineteen of them — though we only wish we’d had the funds to support them all. The successful applications cover a wide range of community, health, and environmental projects.
Next year’s Fair will take place on Saturday 9th May 2026, and we look forward to seeing you all there for a wonderful day of entertainment, shopping, delicious food and drink, and the hugely popular Dog Show.
